Journal entry #8

Global warming causes serious treats to environment like typhoon, El-Nino, flood, and so on. First of all, typhoon is getting more and stronger. Because global warming causes to raise sea level. It means typhoon can get the water better than former times. We will get stronger typhoon and occur it frequently. Secondly, global warming causes El-Nino which means children to use Spanish. El-Nino causes earths hocks which are too cold or too hot and so on. It is not made clear. But the number of El-Nino is getting increasing since global warming. Finally, the number of flood is increasing. Because of global warming the number of rainy day is increasing and raising sea level can make flood well. If we are keeping going our consumption, we will get serious treats to environment.

Journal #9

My father is my hero. There are several reasons why I look up to him. First of all, he has kept up our family for 30 years. We rely on him whenever, whatever and wherever. He seems like a tree which stands one spot everyday for us. Secondly, he has good personality for family. He is thinking everyday for family. He always passion to family works. He wakes up and comes back home everyday. And he grows my garden which is not too big. I learn that personality to him. I think that I take other persons into consideration well. Finally, he does his best everything. He is not the best in his field but he is more diligent than any other persons. I don’t care that my father is not rich. But he can fill in our mind. I really want to make a family which is like us. We are not rich but we are happier than any other families because of my father. I can do that and will try to do continuous.

Shaking a head right and left means that I don't know.

Chafing one's hands mean that I am very sorry.

Shaking a hand ringt and left means to say hello.
Sticking out one's tongue means that I am kidding you.

Handclap means that it is good job.

Stretching arms after five times handclap means that I support you.
Hug means that I love you.
Making a heart to use figure means that I love you.
Making a circle to use rip means that I want to kiss you.
Striking one's chest meas that I feel anxious.

I didn't know that many americans think that Independent day is the most important day. Actually when I was young, I thought which the most important day it is. Because in Korea there are two big holidays such as Seol-nal which is the first day of the lunar calender and Chu-suk which thanks to moon and ancestors. At that days most korean families come togather and enjoy the days. And we thank our ancestors. Here is different with our country. Our country lays emphasis on appreciation to ancestors. But in my opinion here is more enjoyable themselves. It is a different culture. Korean think if someone is succeed, of course it is good for him/herself. But they thank to their ancestors. I don't know american's thinking. I mean Korean is more collective. It may be not only Korean, but also other asian. Anyway most American enjoyed thiers holiday. Next year I will enjoy more like American.

Actually I don't believe a luck. But ironically all of people have own furtune. Everything comes as you try. In Korea there are many fortune-tellers. But I have never been to there. Because everything is up to me. But my mother have been to there sometimes. If she got a good furtune, I believed. But if it was bad, I don't believe. Anyway we don't know our future. Just at now, do best.
About 15 years ago when I came back to home from school, my friend gave 4 volleyball tickets. I am not sure why he give me the tickets. But at that time I didn't like a volleyball. So I refused to get the tickets. After I came back home, I told my mother and brother. As soon as I told them that, they scolded me. Thus I went to my friend and got the tickets. We went to volleyball statium but the team which I support was beated. Again they scolded me. "Why did you make us get angry as you got the tickets?" But great furtune was coming to us. After game, there was a premium lottery. We got the first prize which is tableware ceramic set. It was not big and expensive prize. But we was so happy. Because it was our first prize winning. To this day we used them.

Blockbuster

My favorite blockbuster is The Rock. I can't explain why the movie is my favorite. But I like the movie. The movie's story is good and actor's acting is good, too. At that time I became Ed Harris's fan. Actually I like romantic comedy movie. Because I watch a movie for reducing stress or just making a fun. If you like romantic comedy too, I recommend My Sassy Lady which is the most famous romantic comedy in Korea and my favorite movie. In the movie heroine is the most beautiful actress. If I stand a chance to show our classmate the movie, I will be happy.
